Liberty House opened in 1987 as the first home built exclusively as a group home. Located in Liberty it serves eight people, with some gender flexibility. Two residents must share a bedroom. There is a separate wing containing two bedrooms with separate living space, bath, and kitchen. The home has a roll-in shower and is generally fully accessible. With two lift-equipped vans, the home can serve up to four people who use wheelchairs all the time. This home is able to serve people who are medically fragile as well as those with severe behavior challenges. A minimum of three staff are on duty during all waking hours when people are in the facility, and two are on duty overnight to provide toileting, turning, and other needed assistance. This is designated a "Level III" home by the Division of DD.
