Teaching Counselors
Work with adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community to teach a variety of independent living skills which are tailored to each individual's specific needs. Examples are cooking skills, money management skills, or social skills. Teaching Counselors provide transportation to the bank, grocery store, work, leisure activities, medical appointments and other places the consumers need and want to go. In addition, TC's are responsible for overseeing medical, dental and mental health needs and ensure that all medications are taken as prescribed as well as maintaining contact with consumers' family, guardian, and work supervisor. We have two different types of Teaching Counselor positions: Live in and Live out.
Awake Overnight Aides
Remain awake in the homes during sleeping hours to handle any emergencies that may arise in the night and to ensure safety of consumers. Cleaning duties may also be assigned depending on te ability of the people who live there to accomplish this on their own. In the morning, Overnight Aides provide assistance for the consumers to get ready for work and with morning meal preparation and may provide transportation to work or day placement.
Sleeping Overnight Aides
Sleep overnight in the homes to handle any emergencies that may arise in the night and to ensure safety of consumers. In the morning, Sleeping Overnight Aides provide assistance for the consumers to get ready for work and with morning meal preparation and may provide transportation to work or day placement.
Aides
Assist the Teaching Counselors in the duties described above under Teaching Counselors. This may be providing coverage on the Teaching Counselor's days off or working along side the TC. We hire for two different types of Aide positions: one has a set schedule that would be the same times and days every week, the other works on an as needed basis and would be able to decide when they want to accept or decline available hours.
Fill in Aides
Needed for PRN use, morning runs, evenings, weekends, overnights, occasional day hours. $7.98-$8.48/hr depending on experience. No benefits. We do not guarantee any number of hours, but they may work up to 40 hrs. a week if they wish. Need as many as possible! $1.00 more per hour for awake work done between Sat. 12am and Mon. 12am.
